Ksenia Smirnova is a visual artist who was born in Moscow, Russia grew up in Prague, Czech Republic and is currently living in London. Much of her work deals with issues of national identity and the understanding of cultures that she was brought up in.

Series of Postcards (2011):

This new work focuses on the Soviet history of occupation, specifically in the Czech Republic and what influence it left behind. The project looks at both Czech and Russian national and historical identity through architecture as that is what Prague is widely known for. The crude postcards serve as a tool to represent a stereotypical identity, but not one that is necessarily favorable.

Aleksandr Krylov was born in the north-eastern part of Estonia, known for its industrial character and majority Russian population.
In 2008, Aleksandr decided to take his interest in photography further and moved to the UK, where he studied Art Foundation in Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Art and then he enrolled on the BA Photography course at London College of Communication. At the moment the artist’s style is in the process of development. Staged portraiture has been influenced by recent occupation as event photographer and is transforming into atmospheric reportage practice.
